§ 01   Why This Map Is Needed

Discussion about AI and labor is dominated by two extremes: either technological determinist panic ("AI will replace all jobs") or neoliberal optimism reassurance ("every technological revolution in history has created more employment"). Both narratives are too coarse—both skip over the truly important questions.

This map attempts something different: to slice the impact of AI on labor across five distinct analytical dimensions—individual, organization, labor market, nation, global—and identify within each the specific issues most worth deep analysis. Not a survey, but a topic framework; not answers, but a list of questions worth asking.
